Photographs and story, step by step
Sometimes you’ll find Sacha sitting by the river with a book and a beer; other times, you might spot her at an art opening or dancing at a techno party. I’ve known her for a few years, mostly through these encounters around Bangkok, sometimes with a camera around her neck, documenting whatever was happening or what was going on on the dance floor.
Pisacha S, or Sacha, originally studied interior design before moving into UX/UI. These days she works mostly from home, on the outskirts of Nonthaburi, which means that whenever she makes the trip into Bangkok, she tends to make the most of it. This is where she invited me over to take her portrait. When I arrived, she had her hands in the dirt, taking care of her garden. It was the first time I had seen that other side of her life. Sacha is definitely a very independent person.
We spent much of the time talking: about her work, her connection to her Isan roots, how she moved from designing physical spaces to digital ones, and her recurring dream of eventually living in Spain. In the meantime, she keeps reading, going out and making the most of the life she has here.
