Mint, performing as In.Mint.Condition, is a live-coding electronic musician whose work combines programming and electronic sound in improvised performance.

I first heard of Mint at Museum Siam’s A Bit of Thai Tunes, an event built around live-coded audiovisual performance. With Panlert’s visuals behind her, she made electronic music by typing and changing code in real time. After a few postponed attempts, we eventually arranged a post-Songkran portrait session at her condo. “Just warning you, my room is tiny,” she had texted. Inside, I was greeted by her furry roommate Mr. Horang, surrounded by instruments, controllers and programming gear.

Mint grew up in Korat before moving to Bangkok as a teenager. Her route into sound was not especially linear. She had been interested in punk and K-pop, studied film at Silpakorn University, and later shifted towards sound engineering.

By day, she mixes audio for a media company whose name she preferred to keep private. Outside work, she writes and performs her own electronic music, drawing from a wide range of genres. Her live sets have taken her to events in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. At the time of our shoot, she was working on an album and hoped eventually to release it on vinyl.
